Who We Are

BangMiles (bangmiles.com) is a novelty mileage calculator operated as a personal side project and hosted by Teklan Hosting. For privacy questions or removal requests, contact hello@bangmiles.com.

What stays on your device

BangMiles stores the following data only in your browser's localStorage unless you explicitly submit something:

• Your calculation history and saved results
• Your couple profile and anniversary date
• Your nickname and calculator preferences
• Your advertising choice for this device

This data is not sent to our servers by default.

What we store server-side

If you submit to the leaderboard, we store:

• Your chosen display name
• Your miles total
• Your optional result label
• The submission date

Anti-abuse controls

To protect the leaderboard from spam, BangMiles also stores temporary anti-abuse data derived from the request IP address. This is kept separately from public leaderboard entries and is rotated automatically. We do not publish it on the site.

Shared links

When you copy or share a result, the URL may contain calculator inputs such as length, frequency, dates, and settings. Anyone with that link can see those values because they are in the URL itself.

Web server logs

Like most websites, our server may keep standard request logs that can include IP addresses, user agents, and timestamps for operational security and abuse handling.

Cookies and advertising

BangMiles does not currently set first-party analytics cookies. We use a local advertising choice control on the site. If you accept ads, BangMiles loads Google AdSense and Google may set or read advertising cookies or similar identifiers in line with its own systems. If you reject ads, BangMiles keeps AdSense switched off on that device.

Third-party services

• Google Fonts for typography
• Google AdSense for advertising, but only after an ads-on choice is saved on this device

How to remove data

Local browser data: clear site data for bangmiles.com in your browser.

Leaderboard entries: email hello@bangmiles.com with your display name and approximate submission date.

Children

BangMiles is intended for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe a minor submitted something to the leaderboard, contact us and we will remove it.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA, you may ask us to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you. In practice, the data we can identify on the public service is limited, so removal requests are the most common route.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our site behaviour changes. The date at the top of the page will change when we do.
